Good to know
Gin is where distilling gets truly alchemical, and this 20 gallon electric copper still with gin basket lets you play with botanicals right in the vapor path. You can use the inline gin basket or leave it out, depending on the run. A 4" cap and a 220 volt PID controller with temperature probe take care of clean electric heating.
How does a gin basket on a copper still work?
The basket sits inline, so vapor passes through your botanicals on its way out of the still and carries their aroma with it. Swap juniper for citrus peel or add a pinch of spice, then taste how each change comes through. When you don't need the basket, leave it out and run the still as usual.
- Plug-in power: it draws the same power as a kitchen range, so you just plug it in and get going.
- PID control: the probe and controller keep your heat steady through the run.
- Beyond gin: it handles whiskey, rum, brandy, moonshine or essential oils just as well.
- Lead-free build: shaped by hand from 100% copper, with seams hand-soldered using food-safe solder.
It carries the traditional craftsmanship our family has long been known for. Owning a still is legal in the US, but making gin or any other spirit requires federal TTB permits. It ships free across the U.S. Contact us with questions about your outlet or setup.
