How does a copper still with a thumper and worm work?
Follow the vapor. Heat lifts it off the mash in the boiler. In the thumper it hits liquid, partly condenses and boils again, which gives you a second distillation in a single run. Then it winds through the cooled worm coil and comes out as liquid. You can adjust each of those stages.
